Sen. Pappageorge sponsors property tax town hall forum
February 09, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Briefing: Property owners across the state and country have seen their property values decrease while their property taxes have increased. According to news reports, the average residential assessment in Birmingham has dropped by almost 15 percent.
The town hall will provide property owners with the necessary information to understand why property tax bills rise when property values fall, and how and when property tax assessments should be appealed – including step-by-step instructions. A panel of experts will be available to answer questions.
