Clinton Township, MI – August 8, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — MSU Extension is offering a 3-part workshop on Home Ownership on August 11, 18 & 25, 2011 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Verkuilen Building, 21885 Dunham Rd., Suite 12, Clinton Township.

Home Ownership will focus on consumer protection during the home buying process. Learn to:

  • Effectively select and finance a home,
  • Hire the right real estate agent, lawyer, home inspector and lender, and
  • Understand the closing process.

Invest in your homeownership success. Research has shown that people who attend pre-purchase housing counseling or education are more likely to make on-time payments on their mortgage and are less likely to default on their loans.

MSU Extension is offering an eight week Money Management series on August 30, September 6, 13, 20, 27, October 4, 11 & 18, 2011. Sessions are from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Verkuilen Building, Door E, 21885 Dunham Road, Clinton Township.

Money Management will focus on basic activities around money. Learn to:

  • Set goals
  • Organize your paperwork
  • Use a budget
