Heitkamp Announces Significant Federal Funding for Water and Waste Disposal in Harvey, Michigan

BISMARCK, N.D. – May 4, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced $993,000 in federal funding for water and waste disposal projects in Harvey and Michigan.

“Rural towns thrive when the city, county and state put in place sound and reliable infrastructure to support the families who live there,” said Heitkamp. “These funds will help cover part of the costs for Harvey and Michigan to make needed improvements and upgrades to their current water and waste disposal systems and help keep North Dakota communities strong and safe.”

The funds will be distributed as follows:

Harvey, ND – $952,000. These funds will be used to help cover part of the cost to replace the existing water and waste disposal infrastructure, including ground storage reservoir, pumps house, pumps controls, high efficiency water meters and more.
Michigan, ND – $41,000. These funds will help cover part of the cost for the water and sewer improvement project.
These funds are authorized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
