MDOT to host US-131 BR/Mitchell Street open houses at Cadillac Jr. High

March 17, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — WHAT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a series of open houses regarding the US-131 Business Route (BR)/Mitchell Street road improvement project in downtown Cadillac, Wexford County.

BACKGROUND: MDOT, in partnership with the city of Cadillac and the Cadillac Downtown Development Authority, is planning to reconstruct, improve, and beautify US-131 BR from south of Pearl Street to north of River Street in Cadillac beginning in April. The project includes removing and replacing existing pavement, curb and sidewalk repairs, storm sewer and water upgrades, traffic signal upgrades, and aesthetic improvements.

This open house will allow area residents and business owners an opportunity to talk one-on-one with MDOT staff regarding this $4.5 million project.
