• 2014 NAR President Steve Brown rolled out the red carpet for Michigan and expressed his gratitude for the support of Michigan’s REALTORS®, recognizing their dedication.

• Perseverance and commitment to the industry and sponsorship of his inaugural celebration.

• RPAC Hall of Fame members Mark Baker, Foundation Realty, Adrian and Beth Foley, Summit Properties, Holland, enjoyed a magical lunch with Penn and Teller.

• Claire Williams, Remerica Hometown One, Plymouth, moderated “How do FHA Condominium Rules Impact Your Business?”, serving as Chair of the Condo Working Group.

• Bill Martin, MAR, joined NAR Executive Committee members for a series of meetings including a full review of committee recommendations, strategies and new initiatives.

• Gene Szpeinski, Signature Associates, Grand Rapids, Bill Milliken, Milliken Realty, Ann Arbor, and Shari Veldman, AE, Commercial Alliances of REALTORS®, Grand Rapids, accepted an NAR Commercial Collaboration Award for the associations’ expanded programming and joint data systems with the Commercial Board of REALTORS® (CBOR).

• Alex Milshteyn, Howard Hanna Real Estate, Ann Arbor, and Andrew Daily, Remerica Hometown One, Plymouth, met with Apple Executives in response to “How can Apple provide REALTOR® ready products.”

• MAR President Bill Milliken, Milliken Realty, Ann Arbor, hosted Senator Debbie Stabenow at Sunday’s REALTORS® Celebrity Concert starring Foreigner.

• Gil White, Gilbert N. White REALTOR® Inc., Haslett, discussed Placemaking and REALTOR® opportunities in their communities at “Creating Places to Enhance the Value of Your Community” session, moderated by Kathie Feldpausch, MAR, Lansing.

• Gary Reggish, Remerica United Realty, Novi, and RPAC Chair Sara Lipnitz, SKBK Sotheby’s International, Birmingham, accepted the Chairman’s Award for the state with the highest increase in major investors – a whopping 216 Michigan REALTORS® contributed $1,000 or more to RPAC in 2013.

• Furhad Waquad impressed the inaugural crowd in a unique and diverse convocation ceremony.

• Ontario REALTOR® leaders joined MAR President Bill Milliken and his leadership team for some cross border business brainstorming.

• MAR REALTOR® of the Year, Gordon McCann, Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel, Plymouth, joined his peers onstage at the General Session.

• Furhad Waquad, Real Estate One Blm. Hills, Bloomfield Hills, introduced and moderated Senator Debbie Stabenow’s lively discussion about working with your government to protect property ownership.

• More than $55 thousand was raised during the first-ever REALTORS® Relief Foundation online silent auction; with $725 contributed for Pure Michigan: A REALTOR Prize.
