Developed by Taubman Centers Inc. (NYSE: TCO), the 640,000-square-foot open-air shopping center showcases Macomb County’s first Parisian store (120,000 square feet), plus a 14-screen MJR Cinema complex (58,291 square feet) and over 90 stores and restaurants. Macomb County’s first Nordstrom (122,000 square feet) will debut in April. The lushly landscaped grounds incorporate fountains, a health-themed children’s play area and bocce courts.

The Mall at Partridge Creek is the first new regional shopping center built in Macomb County in more than 30 years. Approximately 70 percent of the stores and restaurants are one-of-a-kinds for the county.

Today’s early birds — many of them arriving in the pre-dawn hours before the stores opened to the public — enjoyed a free outdoor community welcome breakfast and received commemorative fleece blankets before the opening ceremony in Center Court.

Located on the south side of M-59 between Garfield and Romeo Plank in Clinton Township, The Mall at Partridge Creek brings shoppers a host of new amenities, including a health-themed play area where kids can climb on colorful, oversized veggies and hop along the “healthy lifestyle” path; 52- inch, flat-screen outdoor TVs with surrounding seating; bocce courts; free wireless Internet access; snow-melting sidewalks and a 30-foot tall outdoor stone fireplace.

The mall also welcomes dogs with canine comfort stations featuring water troughs and free waste bags.

Over 70 stores and restaurants, including the two-level Parisian and the theater complex, opened with the mall. More stores will join them throughout the fall and winter.

“We are pleased to be opening The Mall at Partridge Creek over 93 percent leased,” says Robert S. Taubman, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Taubman Centers. “It’s a true testament to Macomb County and this particular site to have such a terrific mix of retailers choosing to be a part of this shopping center.”
