WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 15, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Members from the Commercial Board of REALTORS® (CAR), along with the Commercial Alliance of REALTORS® (CBOR) joined together in the first Commercial REALTOR® Day in Lansing. The packed agenda included a trip to the State Capitol, with a morning House Legislative Panel made up of elected officials from around the state, including Speaker Jase Bolger, Rep Joe Haveman, Rep Wayne Schmidt, Rep Tim Greimel, Rep Jeff Farrington and Rep David Rutledge. In addition, Mike Finney, President and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation gave a presentation to the attendees at lunch.

Members then headed back to the Capitol for an afternoon Senate Panel where they met with Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville (R-Monroe) Senator Dave Hildenbrand (R-Lowell), Senator Arlan Meekhof (R-West Olive) Senator Steve Bieda (R-Warren) Senator Mike Kowall (R- White Lake)and Senator Jim Ananich (D-Flint).
A closing reception ended the day with commercial liaisons from the National Association of REALTORS®, along with a presentation from Michigan Supreme Court Justice Brian Zahra.
The successful event provided insight into the legislative process, and both CBOR and CAR hope to make the Commercial REALTOR® day in Lansing a yearly event.
