Consumers Energy Provides $109,000 Energy Efficiency Incentive to Bay County School System
Essexville-Hampton District Receives Payment for Junior High Upgrades
WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — A Bay County public school district has received a $109,168 incentive payment from Consumers Energy for energy efficiency upgrades, part of the energy provider’s commitment to helping schools across Michigan lower their costs and put more money into the classroom.
A Company official presented the incentive check to officials with Essexville-Hampton Public Schools at their school board meeting on Monday.
“We are pleased to help provide energy solutions that will help Essexville-Hampton schools reduce their costs,” said Tim Sparks, Consumers Energy’s vice president of energy supply operations. “This project is an example of the work we have done with over three quarters of all the school districts that we serve. Since 2009, schools have received over $12 million in energy efficiency incentives.”
The incentive payment is the result of recent energy efficiency improvements to the heating and cooling system in the school district’s Cramer Junior High School. Work was completed in June, just in time for this school year.
Consumers Energy has helped Michigan save over $1 billion through energy efficiency since 2009. Learn more about energy efficiency at www.ConsumersEnergy.com/mybusiness, including information on over 400 rebates available to schools and businesses.
