ANN ARBOR, MI – December 2, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Dan Stewart, CCIM, formally partner and co-owner of Michigan Commercial Realty, LLC, and Sperry Van Ness International, a large and fast-growing franchisor providing training, systems management and marketing support for its network of commercial real estate brokerage firms, today announced the launch of Sperry Van Ness/Stewart Commercial Group, LLC, an independently owned and operated franchise of Sperry Van Ness International. This affiliation marks Sperry Van Ness International’s tenth franchise signing this year.

Sperry Van Ness/Stewart Commercial Group, LLC will specialize in representing owners in the sale of multifamily properties throughout Southeast Michigan and investors interested in acquiring multifamily properties throughout the state. The firm will also represent owners in the sale and leasing of office, retail and industrial properties, as well as buyers in the acquisition of office, retail and industrial properties.

Stewart was previously partner and co-owner at Michigan Commercial Realty, LLC, a full-service commercial brokerage based in Ann Arbor, Mich. In 2008 he formed Torch Capital Partners to pursue multifamily investment opportunities for himself and select partners. He was responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of both organizations. Stewart has successful sales and leasing experience in all commercial property types and has represented public and private entities, international corporations and high net worth individuals. He has an extensive network of owners, investors and lenders which he relies upon in each property transaction.
Brian McLaughlin serves as advisor for Sperry Van Ness/Stewart Commercial Group, LLC. Previously, he was with Michigan Commercial Realty, LLC, where he served as sales representative since 2009. At that time, he also became a partner in Torch Capital Partners to pursue multifamily investment opportunities for himself and select partners. In 2000, McLaughlin founded Beechwood Building & Design, an Ann Arbor-based residential custom homebuilding firm where he maintains a partnership interest in the organization. He earned his Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation from the NAHB in 2008.
