Gov. Rick Snyder makes appointment to Residential Builders’ and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors’ Board

LANSING, Mich. – June 22, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Bradley Laackman, of Grand Rapids, to the Residential Builders’ and Maintenance and Alteration Contractors’ Board.

The nine-member board assists the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs with licensing and regulating the construction, alteration or improvement of residential structures.

“Bradley brings valuable experience to this board and I am confident he will effectively serve this role,” Snyder said.

Laackman is director of interior construction services at Custer, Inc. and is the owner and principal at Honor Professional Management & Honor Seating. He volunteers as a judge at DECA, Inc., a fundraiser at Fold of Honor Foundation, is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Michigan, a Next Gen board member at Wedgwood Christian Services, a member of the Economics Club of Grand Rapids and served for over nine years in the U.S. Navy. Laackman earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management and architecture from Ferris State University, a master’s degree in business administration from Northwood University-Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management, and is a graduate of Leadership Grand Rapids. He represents the general public and replaces Colleen Shannon.

Laackman serves a four-year term expiring March 31, 2019. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
