PROJECT DETAILS:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 20, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be rebuilding the M-54 (Dort Highway) bridge and widening the Center and Averill bridges, beginning with demolition of the north section of the Dort Highway bridge tonight. All I-69 traffic has been shifted to the eastbound lanes of the highway as of Thursday night, April 16. All this work is expected to take one week to complete.

The north section of the M-54 (Dort Highway) bridge will be demolished beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, with crews working around the clock. This work is expected to be complete by late Sunday/early Monday.

Once M-54 (Dort Highway) demolition work is complete, crews will then move on to the Center Road bridge. Work will occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for three nights beginning Sunday or Monday, depending on when work on the Dort Highway bridge is finished.

After Center Road bridge work is finished, crews will then move on to the Averill Road bridge. That bridge work will occur nightly over a three-day period as well, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

TRAFFIC IMPACT:
M-54 (Dort Highway):
– Northbound detour: eastbound Lapeer Road to northbound Averill Road, then westbound Court Street to M-54 (Dort Highway).
– Southbound detour: eastbound Court Street to southbound Averill Road, then westbound Lapeer Road to M-54 (Dort Highway).

Center Road:
– Northbound detour: westbound Lapeer Road to northbound Averill Road, then eastbound Court Street to Center Road.
– Southbound detour: westbound Court Street to southbound Averill Road, then eastbound Lapeer Road to Center Road.

Averill Road:
– Northbound detour: eastbound Lapeer Road to northbound Center Road, then westbound Court Street to Averill Road.
– Southbound detour: eastbound Court Street to southbound Center Road to westbound Lapeer Road to Averill Road.

The Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) and Amtrak station on Dort Highway will only be accessible from the north side of I-69 during this work.
