Invitation to Apply – Openings Available on the Board of Zoning Appeals, Parks and Recreation Commission
WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 15, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The City of Traverse City is seeking volunteers who are interested and excited to serve on the Board of Zoning Appeals. The open position is for one unexpired term, ending on June 30, 2017. Members shall not be in default to the City, shall be over 18 years of age and shall be residents of the City of Traverse City.
The purpose of this Board is to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged by the applicant that there is an error in any order, requirement, etc. made by the Building Official, Zoning Administrator, etc. in administering or enforcing the provision of Ordinance. This Board also serves as the body which hears appeals made under the City’s Rental Housing Code and State Housing Law.
The City of Traverse City is also seeking volunteers who are interested in serving on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The two open positions are for a three year term, ending on September 1, 2018. Members shall not be in default to the City, shall be over 18 years of age and shall be residents of the City of Traverse City.
The purpose of this Commission is to make recommendations, in an advisory capacity, to the City Commission on matters relating to the operation, development, and planning of parks, recreation and cemetery services and activities.
