Appointment Continues Detroit’s Renaissance

DETROIT, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ — The management of a collection of some of Detroit’s most legendary buildings, the Penobscot Building, the First National Building and the Cadillac Tower will be overseen by Fred Schwark, the new regional manager of the “The Downtown Collection,” announced Jonathan Zich, chief operating officer of the Northern Group Inc.

An almost 20-year veteran of the commercial real-estate and management industry, Schwark will be responsible for the day-to-day business activities, tenant relations, and strategic business development to continue the dramatic revival of all three buildings.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to be a part of the revival Downtown Detroit has seen during the past several years,” Schwark said. “And, I’m excited to be a part of the Northern Group. Their core mission is to create thriving buildings in urban areas. All three of The Downtown Collection’s buildings have tremendous potential for further development. They’re among the best commercial real estate that Detroit has to offer.

“I began my career in Downtown Detroit, and I'm glad to be back at such a wonderful time for the city,” Schwark said.

Schwark has 18 years of experience in corporate, multi-site and sales management experience. He has worked with respected commercial real estate management companies such as First Industrial Realty Trust Inc. and Prentiss Properties Limited Inc. to coordinate construction and management projects for portfolios of more than 80 commercial properties with more than 2.8 million square feet. He has handled all aspects of day-to-day property management, with a focus on tenant relations, contractor coordination (repairs/maintenance), accounting and other responsibilities, achieving a top 10-percent tenant satisfaction result for three consecutive years. He is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester Hills.
