WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 3, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Calling all green thumbs – the Michigan Historical Center is holding a fun family spring event in Lansing on Saturday, May 11, to highlight Extreme Gardening. Come learn the many different ways to grow flowers and plants, and take home your own mini-garden. Museum admission is free that day as part of the event sponsorship by Christians Greenhouse and Garden Center of Williamston and Haslett. The museum is located at 702 W. Kalamazoo St. in Lansing.

The Extreme Gardening program will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, allowing families to drop by to learn more about different ways to grow flowers and plants, including growing vegetables without using soil and planting gardens on a wall. Children also will be able to start their own mini-garden.

Extreme Gardening is part of the museum’s Second Saturdays program, featuring families and children creating make-it take-it crafts and participating in hands-on activities that relate to the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions on selected dates throughout the year.
