MPSC Approves Special Contracts between Wisconsin Electric Power Company and Tilden Mining Company, L.C. and Empire Iron Mining Partnership

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 24, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved special contracts between Wisconsin Electric Power Company (WEPCo) and both Tilden Mining Company, L.C., and Empire Iron Mining Partnership (the mines).

WEPCo on March 20 filed an application seeking ex parte approval of the 2015-2019 Large Curtailable Special Contracts between itself and the mines.

The special contracts set forth the utility’s charges to the mines for electric service provided thereunder and expire Dec. 31, 2019.

The MPSC noted that the special contracts will not change the existing rates of WEPCo’s other customers and will not subject those other customers to an unfair burden in a future rate case proceeding.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

Case No. U-17862
