The five-member board provides financial and technical assistance through public and private partnerships to create and preserve safe and decent affordable housing. It also engages community economic development activities, addresses homeless issues and works to develop vibrant cities, towns and villages.

“Scott and Tyrone will be tremendous assets to MSHDA and I thank them for serving,” Snyder said.

Wierda is the managing partner of CWD Real Estate Investment. He has 25 years of commercial real estate experience, including extensive development and investment experience in retail shopping centers, office buildings and medical buildings. Wierda holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hope College. He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Rob Fowler and will serve as a Republican member for the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 10, 2015.

Hamilton is the owner of Hamilton Productions, where he works as a disc jockey for weddings and events and provides musical therapy for nursing homes. He previously served as a darkroom technician. Hamilton also volunteers at the Detroit Medical Center playing music for patients. He will fill the vacant position of resident member, which is a nonpartisan role. The appointment is for the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 10, 2014.
