Michigan Department of Civil Rights Returns Discriminatory Housing Advertisement Complaint to HUD

October 29, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR) released the following statement as a status update on an investigation into allegations of illegal housing advertisement discrimination. The allegations related to a roommate wanted posting in a Grand Rapids area church which indicated a preference for a "Christian roommate."

BARAGA COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL TO RECEIVE $28.3 MILLION IN HUD FINANCING

WASHINGTON, DC - October 19, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has committed to insure a $28,310,000 loan to Baraga County Memorial Hospital (BCMH) in L’Anse U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak announced Friday. The loan is being provided through the Federal Housing Administration’s Section 242 Hospital Mortgage Insurance Program and will be used to construct a new facility approximately 3 miles from the existing site.

Community Action Agency to Receive Grant for Housing Counseling Assistance Program

HUD/Site Condo Update

June 18, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — The Michigan Association of REALTORS®, along with many other state REALTOR® associations, has received many questions and concerns regarding site condominiums and FHA loan approvals. Recently, HUD released Mortgagee Letter 19 on the Condominium Approval Process for single family housing. Included in the letter is guidance on how to treat site condominiums. Under the letter, site condos do not need to be approved as condo projects, but FHA loans for site condos still need to include a condominium rider in the loan package for insurance endorsement
