Walk for Warmth raises funds to heat homes

February 2, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Baby it’s c-c-c-o-l-d outside!! That’s why Macomb County Community Services Agency is seeking walkers and donations for the 22nd annual Walk for Warmth on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Funds raised will help eligible Macomb County residents facing utility shut-off, as well as those in need of furnace repair or replacement.

Walk for Warmth is a 5K walk/fun run at a new location in Clinton Township. The new route includes paved sidewalks and a beautiful nature trail through Clinton Township parks.

Walkers raise pledges and participate individually or in teams. Teams should preregister by calling or visiting MCCSA’s website.

Businesses, service clubs, churches, and individuals can help through an event sponsorship or donation. Donations may be mailed to MCCSA–Walk for Warmth, 21885 Dunham Road, Suite 10, Clinton Township, MI 48036. Checks should be made out to MCCSA–Walk for Warmth.

The walk starts and ends at the Clinton Township Senior Adult Life Center, 40730 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and continues until the start of the walk at 10 a.m. Continental breakfast, lunch and door prizes round out the event.
