Congresswoman Debbie Dingell represents the 12th District of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives. Before being elected to Congress, Debbie was the Chair of the Wayne State University (WSU) Board of Governors. An active civic and community leader, she is a recognized national advocate for women and children.

For more than 30 years Debbie served one of Michigan’s largest employers, the General Motors (GM) Corporation, where she was President of the GM Foundation and a senior executive responsible for public affairs. In her commitment to job creation, Debbie led the effort to bring the 10,000 Small Businesses initiative, a $20 million partnership designed to help create jobs and economic growth, to southeast Michigan. She is a past chair of the Manufacturing Initiative at the American Automotive Policy Council.

Dingell Announces $2.2 Million in Grants to Combat Veteran Homelessness

U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today announced that Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency in Wyandotte and Southwest Counseling Solutions in Dearborn/Dearborn Heights will receive grants totaling $2,209,325 from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as part of an ongoing initiative to prevent homelessness among Veterans and their families. The grants are awarded through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program.

The Michigan Natural Shoreline Partnership recently launched a program to help lakefront homeowners understand best practices to protect their shoreland and inland lakes. Peters, Stabenow Announce Over $680,000 for Chippewa County International Airport

U.S. Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow today announced that Chippewa County International Airport in Sault Ste. Marie will receive a $689,269 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to fund the construction of replacement runway lighting systems, runway rehabilitation, an approach survey to identify existing obstructions to runway approaches, and an update to the Airports Geographic Information System data.
