LANSING, MI – April 8, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Rick Snyder today announced appointments to the Residential Builders and Maintenance Alteration Contractors Board.
The board licenses and regulates individuals engaged in the construction of residential structures or the combination of residential and commercial structures.
Joe Agostinelli, Sidney Browne Jr. and Greg Powell are appointed.
“I appreciate the willingness of these individuals to lend their expertise to support our building industry,” Snyder said.
Agostinelli, of Kalamazoo, is the director of governmental affairs for MAVCON Inc. in Kalamazoo. He previously worked for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and served as legislative director to former Sen. Jason Allen. Agostinelli earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan. He replaces Anthony Parker.
Browne Jr., of Marine City, is the chief building/electrical inspector for the city of Rochester, electrical inspector/assistant building inspector for Clay Township, electrical inspector for Auburn Hills and assistant building inspector for the village of New Haven. Browne replaces Jennifer Flack.
Powell, of St. Joseph, is president of Powell Construction Services LLC, Running Waters, Inc. and Powell Custom Kitchens and Bath LLC. He is a board member of the National Home Builders Association, Michigan Association of Home Builders, Cornerstone Alliance, and Builders Education Services and Training of Michigan. Powell earned a bachelor’s degree in applied science from Western Michigan University. He replaces Marilyn Lane.
Agosteinelli and Powell will serve four-year terms expiring March 31, 2015, and Browne Jr. will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 31, 2012. Appointees are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
