Improved service is now available to nearly 500,000 Consumers Energy customers who have received new electric meters capable of sending text-type messages to the company through the cellular telephone network

Their generous donation has allowed for the purchase and placement of water bottle filling stations in the Jay Smith Walkway and at the corner of Union Street and State Street.

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today conditionally approved Consumers Energy Company's request to amend its renewable energy plan by adding a community solar program. If adopted by the utility, it would be the first community solar program offered by a regulated electric utility in Michigan. Participants have the opportunity to purchase subscriptions in 0.5 kilowatt blocks and receive a bill credit for 25 years based on the amount of electricity generated by the solar installation.

The City of Traverse City and Crawford Contracting, Inc. will complete Phase 1 of the 2015 West Front St. Reconstruction Project on Monday, May 11, 2015. The project limits are on West Front Street extending between Division Street and Hall Street. The project includes replacing all pavements including sidewalks.
