MPSC approves settlement agreement authorizing Wisconsin Public Service Corporation and Upper Michigan Energy Resources Corporation to implement Gas Cost Recovery Factors for 2016-2017

LANSING, Mich. – (RealEstateRama) — The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement authorizing Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPS Corp.) and Upper Michigan Energy Resources Corporation (UMERC) to incorporate a uniform base gas cost recovery factor of $0.38929 per therm for the 12-month period ending Oct. 31. A therm is a measurement of natural gas equivalent to approximately 100 cubic feet.

UMERC started operations on Jan. 1 as a new utility serving natural gas and electric customers in the Upper Peninsula (U.P.). Customers in the U.P. previously served by Wisconsin Electric Power Company and WPS Corp. are now served by UMERC.
