MSU Extension offers “Home Ownership” Workshop and Online Home Ownership Education
February 20, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Invest in your homeownership success. Research has shown that people who attend pre-purchase housing counseling or education are more likely to make on-time payments on their mortgage and are less likely to default on their loans.
MSU Extension is offering a free 3-part workshop on Home Ownership on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 6, 13, and 20, 2012 at the VerKuilen Building, Entrance E, 21885 Dunham Road, Clinton Township.
Home Ownership will focus on consumer protection during the home buying process. Learn to:
• Effectively select and finance a home,
• Hire the right real estate agent, lawyer, home inspector and lender, and
• Understand the closing process.

If attending the 3-part series does not fit in to your schedule, MSU Extension has partnered with eHome America to provide a low cost, convenient, and comprehensive alternative to your home ownership education.
This online homeownership class is convenient: learn at home or anywhere on your own schedule. This course is designed to take 8 hours to complete in as many sessions as you choose. A follow-up appointment with an MSUE housing counselor is required to obtain a certificate of completion.
This e-Home America course satisfies homeownership education requirements by state housing agencies and government entities. This online course costs $40 but, a $5 coupon can be found on:
