Public open house to discuss proposed I-475 reconstruction between Carpenter Road and Clio Road
WHAT:
Washington, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host a public open house to discuss work planned on I-475 from Carpenter Road to Clio Road in Mt. Morris and Genesee townships. This project includes reconstruction of the roadway and redesign of the Saginaw Road interchange, and is planned for 2018-2019. MDOT staff are seeking public input on the proposed improvements and the construction staging.
Individuals interested in learning details about the project or providing input are invited to attend. MDOT staff will be on hand to answer questions.

BACKGROUND:
MDOT plans to reconstruct northbound and southbound I-475 between Carpenter Road and Clio Road during the 2018 and 2019 construction seasons. The project is currently in the design phase and MDOT staff are seeking public input on the proposed work.
MDOT is specifically seeking public input on:
1. The proposed removal of two pedestrian bridges over I-475.
2. The proposed reduction of the freeway from three lanes to two lanes in each direction.
3. The removal of the loop ramps at Saginaw Road and the creation of a diamond interchange.
4. Construction staging and maintaining of traffic during work.
