Dingell Announces Small Business Voucher Award for SkySpecs of Ann Arbor

U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today announced that SkySpecs of Ann Arbor will receive a Small Business Voucher from the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. SkySpecs deploys autonomous drones for inspections of wind turbines. Working with Sandia National Labs, the project will focus on the validation of blade damage data to assist with the development of machine learning algorithms for automated identification and classification.

Stabenow, Peters Announce $69,480 Investment for Veterans Housing in Grand Rapids

U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters today announced a $69,480 investment to provide assistance to help end veteran homelessness in West Michigan. The assistance is part of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program. The funding will go to the Kent County Housing Commission, which will work with the Battle Creek VA Medical Center and the Wyoming VA Health Care Center to support homeless veterans

State of Michigan Schedules Auctions for Tax-Foreclosed Properties

More than 350 properties, in four Lower Michigan counties, two Northern Michigan and two Upper Michigan counties, will be auctioned off during State of Michigan Tax-Foreclosed, Real Property Auctions on August 23rd and 24th. Registration for interested bidders will begin at 9:00 a.m., each day, with auctions scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

The Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) M-231 project in Ottawa County and the I-75 reconstruction project in Saginaw County have each earned a regional award in the 2016 America's Transportation Awards competition held by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
