MDEQ Responds to Dingell’s Concerns about Downriver Water Quality
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) responded to U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell’s January 17th letter seeking answers about the water quality in many Downriver communities. Last week, Dingell’s office received reports of both people and their pets becoming ill after drinking water with discoloration, taste and odor issues. MDEQ Director C. Heidi Grether wrote that the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) continues to conduct expanded testing to ensure the water is safe, and provided water testing results and health guidance for affected residents.
Dingell Seeks Answers on Downriver Water Quality Concerns
U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) today sent a letter to Governor Rick Snyder and Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) CEO Sue F. McCormick regarding recent reports of odor, taste and discoloration issues in the tap water in many Downriver communities. Over the weekend, Dingell’s office received reports of both people and their pets becoming ill after drinking the discolored water. Dingell is seeking information about the source of the discoloration and steps that are being taken to ensure the water is safe
Dingell Appointed to House Committee on Energy & Commerce

Consumers Energy to Finish Installing Upgraded Meters in 2017
From Mackinaw City to Monroe, Consumers Energy will have installed 1.8 million new meters across Michigan by the end of 2017. The completion of the five-year statewide project will allow electric customers to track their energy usage more closely online and identify ways to save energy and money.
Greater Realtors Donates Medical Service Dog to Veteran
Southfield, MI: The Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® (GMAR), the top local association of REALTORS® in the state of Michigan, held its second annual “Gives Thanks” party on November 18 at Punch Bowl Social Detroit. The party celebrated and honored service men and women and veterans, as well as the entire GMAR membership. This was the second fundraiser of the year to raise enough money to train a medical service dog to assist a Michigan military veteran through Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs.
