LANSING, Mich. – January 18, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Beginning on Saturday, January 16, water distribution efforts will expand with more than 20 water response teams going door to door to distribute safe water resources to the homes of Flint residents. These teams will consist of state personnel and American Red Cross volunteers, including approximately 250 State of Michigan employees and their family members who will volunteer Saturday through Monday.

Since January 12, the water resource teams have provided nearly 7,500 Flint homes with bottled water, filters, replacement cartridges and water testing kits.

All members of the water response teams will be wearing official credentialed badges with a State of Michigan seal hologram so they can be easily identified.

“With more teams going door to door, we are confident we will double our efforts to ensure residents receive these much needed resources as soon as possible,” said Capt. Chris Kelenske, Deputy State Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and commander of the Michigan State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division.
