WASHINGTON, D.C. - March 6, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- According to the MLS reports compiled by the Michigan Association of REALTORS®, January total sales volume increased, while the average selling price of single-family homes in Michigan rose compared to the same time last year. According to the report, 8,433 single family homes were sold in Michigan in January 2013, an increase of 8.90% over January 2012.

Menino today released the results of the 33rd Annual Homeless Census, conducted by city officials, community leaders, and more than 350 volunteers. As a component of the City’s climate action plan to meet Mayor Menino’s greenhouse gas reduction goals, this ordinance would require all large and medium sized-buildings to report their annual energy and water use to the City of Boston. The proposed ordinance is intended to encourage building owners to participate in local utility energy efficiency programs and educate tenants on building performance

LANSING - February 12, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette today announced Lorraine Brown, former president of mortgage document processor DocX, pleaded guilty to racketeering for her alleged role in authorizing the fraudulent signing of mortgage documents filed in Michigan. Brown pleaded guilty today to one count of Conducting Criminal Enterprises (Racketeering), a 20-year felony, before Kent County Circuit Court Judge Mark Trusock. She will return for sentencing on May 2, 1:30 PM. The guilty plea follows an Attorney General investigation into questionable mortgage documentation filed with Michigan's Register of Deeds offices during the foreclosure crisis

WASHINGTON, D.C. - February 8, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, author of the Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit (also known as 48C), today praised the Departments of Treasury and Energy for announcing the availability of $150 million in tax credits for clean energy manufacturing projects across the country. As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, Stabenow authored the tax credit which provides businesses with up to a 30 percent tax cut to produce renewable energy technologies such as solar panels, wind turbines, and advanced batteries here at home. In 2010, Stabenow's initiative helped twelve Michigan companies across the state create hundreds of clean energy jobs.
